Block Users from Any Video

You can stop unwanted interactions directly on each video. This method works quickly when you are reviewing comments or watching content.

Open the Video Options

While playing a video, click the three dots below the player and choose Block user. This opens a quick safety menu without leaving the page.

Confirm and Manage

After you confirm, YouTube hides that user’s comments and blocks them from interacting with you on the current video. You can review blocked users later in Settings.

Block from the Channel Page

This approach is useful when you want to manage interactions across all videos on a channel. It helps reduce repeated issues from the same creator or viewer.

Open the channel, click About, and select Block User. This view shows their recent activity and allows you to act even if comments are disabled on your videos.

Set Interaction Limits

Blocking here prevents them from commenting on any of your videos and from sending messages if you have contact options enabled. You maintain control over who can reach your audience.

Block in the Community Tab

Community posts are another place where interactions happen. Blocking here protects your posts and keeps your channel feed focused on relevant discussions.

Open Post Options

On any Community post, click the three dots and choose Block user. This action only affects Community interactions and does not delete past comments on videos.

Maintain a Safe Space

Blocking in the Community tab ensures that ongoing conversations in your posts stay constructive. You can still monitor post insights and moderate other comments independently.

Block Directly from Comments

When you review comments, you can act immediately without opening extra pages. This keeps your workflow fast and focused on the specific comment involved.

Open Comment Menu

Hover over a comment, click the three dots, and select Block user. The comment may still appear briefly, but further interactions from that account will be restricted.

Reduce Future Noise

This method is ideal for handling one-off spam or trolling quickly. Over time, it helps maintain cleaner comment threads and encourages more meaningful engagement.

Manage Your YouTube Experience

  • Block users quickly from videos, channel pages, Community posts, and comments using the three-dot menu.
  • Review and manage blocked accounts in Settings to keep control over your interactions.
  • Combine blocking with comment filters for stronger control over who can engage with you.
  • Unblock users anytime if you want to restore interactions or test changes to your community management.
  • Use blocking alongside moderation tools to create a safer and more welcoming channel environment.
